The Sleigh Bed

The Sleigh Bed is visiting my home until it can find a new home. Height: 35", length: 80" at bottom, 86" at top, Width: 35", Clearance: 8". Currently has a slip cover on it, but the original upholstery is beautiful, too.

Pretty neat, huh? Let me know what you think. Is it an antique? How old is it? Mrs. Mendel, of the Strassel & Company business (closed late 1970s) travelled abroad - did she bring this back from somewhere? Or was it crafted in Louisville - as the label might suggest?
